The sky was turning to a dark orange and the light is fading slowly as the sun slowly sets. The weather, Valerie noticed, is turning a little breezy too. Soon, other than the ever running Resha’s footsteps, she could hear the familiar sound of insects crying for a mate for the first time since her arrival in this world. Though she’s feeling really sick, she could now think and respond properly for the time being.
‘We must be completely out of Du’Tauren now since we could even hear insect’s mating call, which means we should be able to reach Van’Dar by tomorrow night. We’ll sneak in through the back of the city. The city is now under the control of the Dark-Elves, but they’re not so heavily guarded and since it’s a human populated area, so we should be able to blend in, hopefully. We’ll have to enter in a disguise as a human because if they see your pointy ears, they’ll know you’re a High-Elf and will most definitely capture you.’
‘Ok ok, but what about Resha? Will they allow her to enter?’
‘Well, she’ll have to wait outside I guess. I’ll call for her if needed. We’ll have to camp here for the night, it’s getting dark, and Resha needs to rest already. She’s practically running non-stop for the whole journey. There, that seems like a safe and solid place to camp.’
Seigheart immediately started a fire with magic and later started cooking their dinner, leftover meat. ‘Ugh, I don’t really feel like eating. I’m still not quite well and I’m starting to have the shivers again.’
‘That’s probably the magic trying to stop the poison from reacting again. But I have to tell you 1 thing first. Even after taking the medicine, you’ll still have some form of defect in some way or another. The poison will forever be in you body until the day you found a cure for it, so you’ll most definitely have a disadvantage while in battle in some way or another.’
‘Yeah, I’m ready to face my punishment for my incompetence. I’ll just have to deal with it,’ replied Valerie with a shivering sigh. Valerie suddenly rolled over and was grabbing her stomach in pain but without a scream.
Seigheart rushed towards her and examined her. ‘The poison is getting stronger. Muic’Emarap!’ chanted Seigheart and panted deeply after casting the spell.
‘My stomach still really hurts,’ said Valerie as she was bending over.
‘The poison is now too strong for my current state to help you without help,’ said Seigheart as he walked towards the supply box. Inside he took out a golden staff which has a beautiful golden coloured orb sitting on it with claws by it’s side.
This staff can help me cast stronger skills but it’ll take up much more energy. In order to stop the poison from spreading further, I have to choice but to use a stronger magical force. Muic’Emarap!’ shouted Seigheart while pointing the staff directly at Valerie’s stomach and the yellow orb illuminated brightly and fades after a while. Valerie now feel’s much better but she still could not sit out straight and is now shaking all over.
‘Thanks, I feel better again.’ said Valerie who’s still lying on the ground.
Seigheart didn’t replied her. He was too tired to answer her and is now eating the food which is now cooked eagerly. ‘Rest up, you’ll need all the energy required for tomorrow’s last leg of the journey. Be prepared to face the worst,’ said Seigheart who’s still panting.
While dozing near the campfire with the watch full eyes of Resha, Valerie began to toss and turn in, sweating all over with her eyeballs rolling around under her eyelids. Though Resha didn’t take much notice of it, something is happening to Valerie.
Valerie found herself lying on the soft green grass. The grass looks familiar, its fresh, peaceful and soft. Then she picked herself up and looked around. She realized she is back before the invasion. Everything was back the way she wanted. There she saw Tirion at all her glory. The first thing came to her heart is that she just had a bad nightmare and wanted to see her uncle and her sister she missed so much. She raced to the city as fast as she could.
Upon reaching the edge of the forest, the city suddenly went up in flames. She could hear cries of mercy and battles once again. She saw a huge army or Dark-Elves charging towards the city, arrows flying about, the sound of swords and shields clashing around and magical energies floated everywhere. The church has been smashed down and most of the towers lay in ruins. She ignored the battles around her. She ran and ran, hoping she is not reliving the same experience that she had once saw and could this time, save her uncle and her sister. Then she saw something which caught her attention. She saw her cottage which is half gone and her uncle being dragged and escorted by dark elf warriors. Her uncle seems to be hurt and in intense pain. She then realised that this is a different version of the invasion of TIrion because she could not find her sister anywhere.
She then remembered that her sister always trained her magic at the Royal Guard Hall which was not far from her home. So she ran to the Royal Guard Hall, surprisingly without any resistance. There was bloodshed everywhere, helpless survivors being caged and brought away. This can’t be happening Valerie thought. It was a terrible sight that her tears never kept stop running down her cheeks, picturing the local friendly people being brutally killed or brought away. Upon reaching the Royal Guard Hall, she saw someone laying on the floor at the temple entrance. It was Vivian, her sister, apparently unconscious. ‘This can’t be happening. How come I’m reliving the dreadful experience all over again,’ cried out Valerie. Then a gang of Dark-Elves came out of the Hall and collected her sister, put her in a cage and brought her away through the woods. ‘Nooooo, leave her alone!’ shouted Valerie as she charged towards the mob or grinning Dark-Elves. The temple door suddenly bursts open with a surging wind and there stood a figure, a black blurry mysterious figure, with 2 glowing swords crossed behind him, one bloody red while the other arctic blue. Then he vanished leaving the Dark-Elves pillaged the temple.
Valerie, by now, is sobbing her heart out. She couldn’t hold in the terror much longer. She had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. ‘This must be a dream, this can’t be happening!’ cried Valerie with tears in her eyes.
‘Hey keep it down,’ came a voice.
‘Huh? What?’ Now Valerie could feel the heat beside her and she could now feel the weird surging in her stomach once again. She suddenly woke up and threw up at the side.
‘You had quite a dream, you were tossing and turning around and you even screamed. So I had to wake you up because,’ he look around and continued, ‘we have company.’

‘Are we there yet?’
‘No.’
‘Are we there yet?’
‘No.’
‘Are we there yet?’
‘For the thousandth time, I SAID NO! Now stop asking silly questions, we still have at least 5 to 6 days before we reach Van’Dar. SO STOP YOUR YAPPING!’
‘LALALALALAl..’ Sefra and Haquis is almost always bickering among the 2 of them. They hardly ever got a single thing which they could actually agreed on.
‘Quit your yapping you 2, you guys hear that?’ asked Dylan.
‘Hear what?’
‘You hardly ever pay attention you big oaf. You only know how to talk talk talk..’
‘Hush, told you 2 to be quite a while. I can hear several footsteps round the corner. Sefra, go up the tree and see what we’re up against.’
‘Got it,’ said Sefra as she climbed the tree gracefully. ‘Woah, there’s a team of Dark-Elves, around 7 or 8 of them, 11 o’clock. What should we do Dylan?’ asked Sefra as she climbed down the tree.
‘Are they heavily armed?’
‘Not really, they seem more like a scouting troop instead of a search and destroy party. And there’s something weird about them, the way they’re walking. It’s rather abnormal like.’
‘Well, who cares if they’re walking style is different. They’re still a threat to us and they’re coming our way. Do we fight them or avoid the risk?’ asked Haquis quietly.
‘I think it’s best if we just hide. Since they seem to be a scouting troop, they probably don’t have a particularly good tracking and observation skills. And they’ll be expected to report back to camp soon if they are a scouting troop, if we kill them, they’ll surely know something’s up. Besides, we have far less forces then them, who knows how good are they. So, split up, Sefra, you get up and hide on the trees. Haquis, you get 2 horses and I’ll take the 2.’
‘Nah, I bet we can beat them easily, just the 3 of us. We’re invincible.’
‘Don’t get cocky mister. I don’t have a bow remember to help with the range attacks remember?’
‘Hush, just hide, quickly!’ commanded Dylan.
‘Roger that,’ said the both of them. Sefra climbed up to the safety of the trees while Dylan and Haquis hides in nearby dense bushes and trees.
Soon after, the troops of Dark-Elves is now walking down their route. Their walking is particularly funny thought Dylan. They seem to be walking in a zigzagged way, somewhat reminded him of a reptilian type of walking. Then one of the Dark-Elves started to talk to another one, and Dylan was astonished at what he is hearing. These Dark-Elves are talking in a weird language and not the common language that was used in the whole of Darkmeth, and Dylan was sure that he could understand the Dark-Elven language. So what is this gibberish he thought.
The team merely stayed in their position till the troop walked away and then they finally came out of their cover. ‘You guys hear that? What language are they talking? And how come they have a weird way of walking?’ asked Sefra.
‘I have no idea, but all I know is we have to get out of here, pronto. One of those Dark-Elves came so close to me that I nearly puked,’ said Haquis.
‘Whatever they are, I have a feeling we’ll get to meet more of those sooner or later. Let’s move out, and fast,’ commanded Dylan.

Seigheart is pacing up and down their area, thinking what to do. ‘The both of us can’t possibly hide in such an open area like this, besides, they’ll most definitely find our tacks. The easiest way is to just meet them faced on. You’ll have to hide low among the scrubs. Resha and I will fend them off, thats the only choice that we’ve got right now.’
‘But you look so weak right now, how can you fight them off? How many of them are there anyways?’ asked Valerie.
‘There are about 7 or 8 people heading towards our current position. I don’t really plan to use this, but we don’t have anymore choice.’ Seigheart then took out a crystal ball from his cloak which emits such brilliance that Valerie couldn’t take her eyes off it. ‘This is a magical crystal ball in which contains a large amount of magical energy which I can use from to cast spells. But once the energy in it is used up, it is considered useless. I plan to only use it when I am forced to use magic and have very little magical energy left, which never had happened before because the other’s were always there. With my remaining magical energy, I can’t even cast a fireball.’

‘Where do you get such a thing anyways? And I don’t hear anything. Are you sure you aren’t hearing things?’ asked Valerie.
‘That’s because animals have better hearings than us. Resha was the one who heard something coming our way and warned me about it. There’s no time to explain. Go, hide!’
Valerie obediently scampered towards the scrubs at the far corner where it is shadowed. Soon after, a troop of 7 Dark-Elves walked towards where Seigheart was sitting.
‘And how may I help you gentlemen?’ asked Seigheart. Valerie could now see the appearance of the Dark-Elves and was shocked to see that these Dark-Elves doesn’t look like an Elf at all. They have sharp pointed eyes instead of oval beady ones and they are much more muscular than the usual graceful elf figure. Their face was covered in a black clothe except for their eyes and purplish mouth. The only feature which points out that they’re Dark-Elves is their dark skin and pointed ears, or else Valerie won’t even think that they’re Dark-Elves
‘What is a lone magician doing here alone in the middle of nowhere?’ said one of the Dark-Elves. Valerie was shocked to hear sound of that Dark-Elf, his voice is somewhat gurgling rather than the usual normal speech. Seigheart, not giving away any sign of being shocked or surprise merely answered him, ‘I am travelling towards Van’Dar from Johgar to visit and old friend of mine.’
‘And who might that be?’
‘Ah, his name is Yrcyam. He should have arrived at Van’Dar’s port yesterday using his trading ship. He wrote a letter to me regarding his arrival a few months ago.’
Another one of the Dark-Elves went up and said, ‘Yea Yea, I think I’ve heard a man by that man who had just arrived there.’
‘Shut up you imbecile,’ and the subordinate backed down cowardly. ‘If you’re travelling from Johgar, how come you’re now at the south of Van’Dar since Johgar is to the North of Van’Dar?’
‘Oh, I got lost and ended up here.’
‘Too bad for you, we have the authority given by the King to capture those who are suspicious and you most definitely is suspicious. Seize him.’
Seigheart meerly smiled at the troops as he stood up with his staff at his right hand and the Crystal Orb on his left. ‘You sure you want to fight against me?’ said Seigheart with his Crystal Orb glowing menacingly.

Valerie likes climbing the tree and spends the time alone where she clears out all of her thoughts and could just relax and get away from the fast paced and hectic life of the elvish city. But the main reason she goes to this tree is because this is the tree that her mum had sent her and her twin sister. She could still feel a magical force lingering around the tree. Why did her mum send her there? She
